Seema Chandaria

General Counsel, Capricorn Fund Managers

Seema acts as General Counsel at Capricorn Fund Managers Limited. Seema graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a BA in English language and literature. She holds a post-graduate diploma in law from City University, London and qualified as a solicitor in 2010 (SRA number 451901). She also holds a sustainable finance certification from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. Originally from Canada, Seema worked in a number of sectors including at the Justice Department of Canada and in retail banking with BMO Canada before moving to London to pursue a career in law. Seema trained at Shearman & Sterling LLP, and has over 13 years’ experience working as fund counsel at a number of London law firms including K&L Gates LLP and Osborne Clarke LLP, where she acted for a broad spectrum of clients across all asset classes including fund sponsors and managers as well as institutional and high net worth and investors in the private funds space. After three years with PwC London’s Alternative Investment Funds tax team, Seema moved in-house to Capricorn in January 2024 and works closely alongside the operations team and senior management to deliver a fully integrated service to our clients.
